ABOUT JANICE BROWN STEPHENS
Janice Brown Stephens was born and educated in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. She is the 14th of 14 siblings. Janice continued her education at the Nash County Community College, receiving an Associate Degree in Executive Secretarial Science. She is the mother of three children, grandmother of three, and the great-grandmother of four.
Janice accepted Christ as her Savior and Lord at the age of 12. She accepted the call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in May of 1979. She received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from United Christian College, Goldsboro, North Carolina, in 1997.
She has served in the following capacities:

Dr. Brown Stephens has traveled extensively, nationally and internationally, as a gospel artist, teacher and preacher. She has performed, with her former singing partner, F C Barnes, at President Ronald Ragan's First Inauguration in Washington DC, in numerous concerts across the United States, Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas. She also performed as a guest soloist for the Prime Minister of the Grande Bahamas, and for a benefit musical for the Red Cross in the Virgin Islands.
She has received many awards and proclamations from Governors of many states, including California, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington DC.
Dr. Brown is the proud co-recipient of a Gold Album, ROUGH SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN. This afforded her international fame. She is a Grammy Nominee and a Dove Nominee. Her voice is heard in on over 13 gospel albums.
Her gifts of business administration, church order, and innovative capabilities positioned her, allowing her gift of singing to captivate audiences. After 20 years of being off the gospel singing scene, she joined Monte Stephens in recording an album, ALIVE AND WELL. She was welcomed by The Recording Academy of Santa Monica, California, as a voting member for the GRAMMYS.
In 2010, Monte Stephens and Janice were joined in holy matrimony. They reside in Sweetwater, Tennessee.
Dr. Stephens is a very loveable, proficient, and diligent young woman. She is anointed by God to evangelize, teach and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. As one can see from the aforementioned capacities, singing is just one of her talents, but her divine call to share the love of God through ministry is primary in her life. Her goal is to win one million souls to the kingdom of God.
